Who can enroll at the Cornwall Child Center? Children between the ages of 3 and 8 are welcome to enroll at the Cornwall Child Center. Three and four year olds enjoy a well respected nursery school program between 8:30 and 1:00 everyday. Five year olds may attend before and after kindergarten and join the six, seven and eight year olds in an after school enrichment program including theme based activities, outdoor play, nature hikes, music, games and story time.
When can my child enroll? The Child Center offers open enrollment. In the fall, the Child Center opens on the first day of the Region I school calendar. Many children come on the first day for the school year term. However, the Director is happy to meet with perspective parents during the year for a tour of the facility and to answer questions about our programs. The child is encouraged to visit, play, and meet the teachers before his/her first day.
Can my child enroll before the third birthday? Yes, if your child will turn three between September 1 and December 31.
Are there other enrollment requirements? Yes, every child must be independent in the bathroom, have seen the doctor within the year, and be up to date with their immunizations. There are two exemptions for immunizations 1) the parent applies for a religious exemption 2) the child’s doctor writes a letter stating that due to a medical circumstance the child is not immunized.
Who may pick up my child after school? Only those people that are listed in your child’s file may have permission to pick up your child. Parents are asked to tell the teachers at drop off time if someone other than the parent is picking up the child. If the teachers do not know the individual, he/she will be asked to supply identification.
How much does it cost to send my child to the Child Center? When the parent visits, the Director will supply an enrollment packet and a tuition agreement. The Child Center offers a sliding scale based on family income. Every parent is asked to volunteer their income bracket; establish a schedule of attendance; and then a weekly fee agreed upon between the parent and the Director.
When do I pay? Tuition is due on the first day of the week your child attends. Tuition can be paid weekly or monthly.
Is there scholarship money available? Yes, the Director will supply an application for requests. |
